You will be working as R&D Engineer and will be the part of Electrification business area for Smart Buildings division based in Cairo, Egypt. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Manager and will be responsible to contribute with own ideas to identify, propose and implement innovative technology development and solutions, solve industrial problems independently, use your technical knowledge and leadership skills to oversee development tasks and to contribute to strategic technology plans and the project portfolio

Your responsibilities

  • Contributing to new product introduction and product change in the field of metal enclosures for electrical distribution including design and prototyping and sheet metal components, copper busbars, plastic parts design
  • Creating, updating and maintaining product documentation on PLM & ERP and write technical reports, solving physical and industrial problems, providing consulting services to business operations and customers
  • Keeping up to date with technologies, tools and methods and implementing initiatives to improve operations and customer satisfaction, participating constructively in working teams
  • Sharing own technical/scientific knowledge in own projects and supports colleagues in applying processes and tools to ensure timely and high-quality results

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering
  • Experience of 2-4 years of in mechanical design, using CAD SW : Solidworks and/or PTC Creo
  • Excellent oral and written communication in both English and Arabic are mandatory
  • Sheet metal design (Sheets & bars) and plastic parts design knowledge, DFM & DFA (punch-press brake-welding- painting – assembly), PLM & ERP experience and prototyping using 3D printer are a plus
